According to a spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, they were called to the incident at around 10am.

Due to the fire breaking out in a block of flats, nine fire crews were put on alert, however only two engines were required.

The fire was quickly extinguished, with crews calling a stop to the incident at around 10.20am.

A fire spokesman said: “There was a fire on a balcony of a flat in Stoke Quay but it didn’t require much input from the fire service.

“It was put out fairly quickly.

“It was a very small fire on the balcony of a flat.

“The number of vehicles alerted is due to the nature of the building.”

The fire was extinguished using buckets and a hose reel.
