FIREFIGHTERS from Ipswich tackled a fire in a kitchen in the early hours of today.
Two crews from Princes Street attended Gymnasium Street, Ipswich, at midnight to find a small blaze in a kitchen of a terraced property.
They extinguished flames and the incident was finished within half an hour.
At 1.10am there was a car alight on Springfield Road, Bury St Edmunds. Two crews tackled the fire, which was out by 1.20am.
Firefighters were also called to deal with a fire in a flat in Shadingfield Close, Lowestoft, at about 1.20am. Smoke was reported to be coming from the roof of the property. When the crews from Lowestoft and Normanhurst arrived, they found a ground floor flat well alight and extinguished the flames. The fire caused substantial damage to property, which was unoccupied at the time.
Other residents in the block were evacuated and no-one was injured. The flat was then ventilated and the incident was over by 2.25am.
An investigation is now underway. Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously just before or at about the time of the fire to contact Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Kerry Pawling at Lowestoft CID on
