FIREFIGHTERS tackled a huge fire which engulfed straw bales in north Suffolk today.
A crew from Eye fire station were called to the blaze at around 7am.
They arrived at the scene in Marsh Lane, Wortham, near Diss where they discovered 40 tonnes of baled straw completely engulfed by the flames.
The firefighters took measures to protect a nearby hedgerow as they battled the fire, which was extinguished by 1pm.
