FIRE crews battled a blaze on a farm today which engulfed 500 tonnes of straw.
FIRE crews battled a blaze on a farm today which engulfed 500 tonnes of straw.
The fire was caused by sparking electricity cables on a farm in Bardwell.
Crews from Ixworth and Bury St Edmunds were called to the scene at 1.14pm and immediately set about preventing the flames from spreading to nearby buildings and machinery.
The blaze was then allowed to burn out before the area was declared safe.
