The first flurries of snow could be set to fall tonight across East Anglia ahead of a week of freezing conditions.

Forecasters expect the day to be largely sunny across Suffolk and North Essex after an initial frosty start.

The cold winds are set to continue throughout the day with temperatures getting no higher than 4C.

The Met Office currently have three weather warnings in place for our region for the next three days.

Whilst initial flurries of snow could start as early as this evening the first significant showers are thought to come on Monday afternoon.

Consecutive warnings for Tuesday and Wednesday suggest that the snow will continue across the first half of the week with forecasters warning of travel disruption and that rural communities could be cut off.

The heaviest showers are predicted for Wednesday and will affect most of England and Scotland.

Forecasters had joked earlier in the week that spring –which starts meteorlogically on March 1 - had been delayed whilst the Beast from the East brought in cold weather from the continent.
