A FISHING vessel has been left badly damaged after catching fire at a boat yard near Lowestoft.
The six-metre boat was under repair when the blaze broke out at the International Boatbuilding Training College in Sea Lake Road at around 4.30pm today.
Firefighters were hampered by a 3kg propane cylinder, which they had to remove from the vessel while they tackled the fire.
A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said: “The boat was well alight, so I don't think it would be very sea-worthy.”
