Police have arrested five men on suspicion of burglary following an incident in Colchester yesterday, Friday, December 8.

Officers received a call at around 5.45pm reporting that a property had been broken into in Halstead Road and suspects had stolen jewellery and watches.

The occupant saw a suspicious vehicle drive off and officers stopped a car in Peartree Road at around 6.35pm.

Officers then arrested five men, aged 30, 24, 23 and 21, on suspicion of burglary and they remain in custody for questioning.
