FIREFIGHTERS are currently working to battle a blaze which is believed to have engulfed Rushmere Heath.
A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue said that two fire crews had originally been sent to the blaze at 3.38pm, however a four four appliances were requested.
He said: “Firefighters are currently at the scene and are tackling 100x100 metres of heath, which is well alight.”
An eyewitness told the Evening Star that plumes of smoke could be seen coming from the area.
