Firefighters were called to Freehold Road, Ipswich at about 7.30am today after flames engulfed the living room of a first floor flat.
Nobody was injured and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a single hose reel jet to control the flames by 8.16am.
The flat is currently being ventilated.
