Flipping good fun was had by all at Bucklesham Grange Care Home this afternoon as a range of games and activities were put on to mark Shrove Tuesday.
Flipping good fun was had by all at Bucklesham Grange Care Home this afternoon as a range of games and activities were put on to mark Shrove Tuesday.
Residents’ at the retirement home, in Bucklesham Road near Ipswich, celebrated by making their alternative pancake recipes and fillings, participating in a pancake toss competition and watching and cheering on staff members in a pancake race undertaken by the care team.
The afternoon was thoroughly enjoyed by residents at the home, a number of whom held the ribbon at the finishing line.
Resident Pauline Acres, 84, said: “I had a great time, it is nice to be able to do something different.”
Pamela Mills, 95, said: “I had great fun and loved watching the team have a laugh.”
Nina Raper, 84, added: “I loved being outdoors in the fresh air and watching the team race.”
Lifestyle assistant at Bucklesham Grange, Tanya Finch, said: “Our resident’s had a great time tossing pancakes and watching our care team undertake a pancake race at the home.
“I am pleased to say I won the team race due to sheer determination and resident Pauline Acres was the winner of our pancake tossing competition today, who tossed an amazing 12 pancakes without fail.”
