Tomorrow Suffolk Constabulary is due to host a 24-hour Tweetathon featuring the calls its control room receives about incidents.
The EADT and Ipswich Star will also be posting the Tweets on its websites, www.eadt.co.uk and www.ipswichstar.co.uk, so readers can keep up-to-date with the reports.
The Tweetathon comes after the constabulary announced changes to its policing model earlier this month in response to needing to save £20.5million by 2020, and the changes in demand it faces. It hopes it will help the public understand the diverse nature of the calls it receives.
Tweets will be issued on @SuffolkPolice using #Suffolklive.
A team of staff and officer volunteers will be in the control room tweeting basic details of as many live calls as possible as they come in.
Should a major police incident occur the Tweetathon will be postponed until a later date.
