The former Mayor of St Edmundsbury has given a £30,000 boost to a dozen west Suffolk organisations.
Councillor Robert Everitt raised the £30,000 through civic events held during his mayoralty year.
His two main charities – Gatehouse and West Suffolk Hospital Acute Kidney Injury – have each received £10,000, while the remaining £10,000 has been split between St Edmundsbury Cathedral, The Guildhall Project, Ahead Club, the Bury St Edmunds Deaf Association, The Voice Squad, Stagecoach, Haverhill Silver Band, Artheads, the Bury St Edmunds Concert Band, and Bury St Edmunds Sea Cadets.
Mr Everitt, said: “It was an amazing and fun year as mayor.
“I was delighted to have had so much support for my various civic fundraising events – and I was staggered to raise such a vast sum of money for a great variety of local groups and organisations.”
