FORMER Silver Ski Rockets captain David 'Magic' Mason has rejoined his parent club as a Kart Raceway Cobra.

The 2001 Conference League Riders Champion had just been released by Mildenhall, with whom he achieved a 6.45 average.

The Rye House promotion sees his average as a false one, and has quickly moved to help him regain his true form by sending his engines to Rye technical director Michael Lee for tuning.

Mason's arrival is designed to add stability to the side's middle order, and which has been lacking so far this campaign.

Daniel Blake is the rider who unfortunately makes way to accommodate him.

Rye House promoter Len Silver said: “This was a difficult decision. We could have released any one of a number of riders whom have been under-performing this season, and in reality Daniel has been no worse than others.

“I will try to find him a berth at another track as soon as possible.”

A recent guest replacement for Danny Halsey against the Isle of Wight, Mason is scheduled to make his formal Cobras debut away at Scunthorpe next Friday (August 14).

He has also been named alongside team captain Halsey to compete in the National League Pairs Championship which will be staged at the Isle of Wight on Tuesday, August 28.
