A former West Suffolk College hairdressing student will style celebrity hair at next year’s Brit Awards after being chosen as part of a special artistic team.

Sophie Clark, 25, from Stowmarket, is one of only 30 hairdressers who are part of the L’Oreal ID Artist Team – styling models at big events such as the Brits and the student fashion ‘White Show’ at Central St Martins in London.

Sophie left school at 16 and trained at West Suffolk College before joining Chapmans Hair in Stowmarket, and she returned to the college for various courses including teacher training.

Sophie, who auditioned in the summer to be part of the L’Oreal programme, said: “I am over the moon, all my hard work is paying off and I am getting myself out there.”

Marnie Randall, subject leader in hairdressing, said; ”It’s a great endorsement of our college training and it’s a real tribute to Sophie’s personal drive and ambition.”
