FOUR people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a woman in an arson attack in Essex three years ago.

On May 4, 2005, Kerry Youngs, 24, and her boyfriend Kevin Chappel, then 27, were at their flat in Bush Fair, Harlow, when someone started a fire in the flat below them and they could not escape.

Both were pulled from the burning building by firefighters but Miss Youngs died two days after a blaze. Mr Chappel suffered serious brain damage and still needs 24-hour care three years on.

Essex Police said today that they have arrested two men and two women on suspicion of murder and grievous bodily harm.

They are also handing out flyers and putting up posters in Harlow in the hope that people may come forward with more information.

Det Supt Tim Wills said: “The lives of these two young people who had a bright future together have been cruelly denied them while those responsible for Kerry's murder have been protected by a wall of silence.”
