Four criminals have been convicted in connection with a violent attack on a man in his Suffolk home.

The offenders entered a residential property in Lowestoft on August 27 last year and stole a quantity of cash.

The homeowner, a man in his 30s, suffered significant injuries during the burglary, including gunshot wounds to his back and neck, which required surgery to remove multiple pellets.

Thomas Dale, now 20 and of no fixed abode, was subsequently charged with attempted murder and aggravated burglary.

Daniel Howarth, 26, of Carlton Square in Carlton Colville; Emma Hales, 31, of Denmark Road, Lowestoft; and Hayley Capps, 31, of St Edmunds Crescent, Kessingland; were all charged with aggravated burglary.

Dale pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent and aggravated burglary.

The three other defendants denied the charges and appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on March 5 for the beginning of a trial.

On the first day of the hearing Howarth pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary.

On March 7, both Hales and Capps admitted burglary.

All four will be sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court at a date to be confirmed.
