The Framlingham Country Show returns this weekend – and promises to be even bigger and better than last year with many new added attractions.

Last year the event, staged at Framlingham College alongside the Suffolk Food, Drink and Music Festival, attracted 12,000 visitors.

Among the attractions on Saturday and Sunday – from 10am to 5pm – will be an appearance by Elizabeth Talbot from Flog It, Bargain Hunt and the BBC’s Going for a Song, who will be hosting an Antiques Interaction talk area.

People are invited to bring a small valuable to be valued.

Michael Perry from Thompson and Morgan – often on BBC Radio Suffolk and has also been seen on Alan Titschmarsh – will be giving gardening talks.

Cookery demonstrations will be provided thanks to the Brudenell Hotel, The Dennington Queen, The Railway Inn, plus butchery demonstrations courteousy of Hall Farm Butchers.

Italian chef and forager Claudio Bincoletto will lead Foraging Walks and Suffolk forager Julie Foster will be talking on the topic.

The show will also feature a Chilli Festival and also another 50 food producers with a fabulous array of products, and 70 stands in the lifestyle marquee.

A spokesman for the event said: “We have a dedicated craft marquee along with our very talented rural crafters handmaking various products such as sticks, plus a blacksmith, willow weaving, potters, furniture making and so much more.

“In main ring we have new attractions such as the extraordinary Sheep Show, shire horse displays and dog and duck herding.

“There will also be a fantastic dog area with dog rings with dog agility, flyball, dog shows run by Paws of Parham and Earl Soham Vets and the trick dog as seen on Channel Five.”

There will also be an opportunity to hold a snake, bearded dragon or tortoise with Amazing Reptiles and the Foolhardy Circus, which has visited Glastonbury, will provide Circus Shows and workshops throughout.
