Let Christmas commence in festive fashion

A LAVISH start to the festive season is planned for this weekend in the superb surroundings of a Suffolk landmark.

Visitors to the Christmas Country Show, at Brandeston Hall, near Framlingham, will be greeted by fire-eaters, stilt-walkers, carol singers and bell-ringers on Saturday and Sunday, as they embark on a truly festive experience.

Santa’s reindeer and elves are due to make an appearance at the show, which is set to feature a host of live cookery demonstrations and an array of shopping stands with gifts for everyone.

Inside the 19th Century hall, visitors will find a feast of food, drink and shopping stalls, along with demonstrations of country pursuits, wood turning, and a family of Newfoundland dogs.

Outside, a steam train will be ready to take people to a winter wonderland where reindeer Snow and Drift will be waiting.

The weekend will see several rings full of activities and demonstrations including falconry, ferret racing, chainsaw carving and dog shows.

On Saturday evening the hall will host some fantastic amusement during an Christmas market with fairground rides.

The event takes place from 10am-6.30pm on Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday.
