A FIRST aid team is celebrating five years of providing potentially life-saving treatment in emergency situations.
The Framlingham First Responders are looking for more members as they go into their sixth year. The group meets monthly and members complete a weekend training programme, followed by four annual sessions.
They usually provide first aid, before the arrival of paramedics, for people suffering breathing and chest problems, strokes and sometimes cardiac arrest, but do not respond to crashes, pregnancies, paediatrics or assaults. Volunteers can start training at 17.
Co-ordinator Leighton Page said: “Everyone has commitments and availability can vary.
“They pick hours convenient to them. We are looking particularly for people between 9am and 5pm on week days. The more the merrier.”
