Two young Suffolk first-aiders have learned lifesaving techniques to receive the highest accolade in their training programme.

Keira Hambling 10, and Maisy Mendle, 11, from St John Ambulance’s Framlingham Badger Unit worked their way through 13 subjects to recieve the much-coveted Super Badger Award.

Keira said: ‘Getting this award was a very special moment for me. I enjoy volunteering with St John Ambulance as it’s fun and you get to do lots of different things. In the future I’m looking forward to being of help to my sett.’

Maisy added: ‘I enjoyed getting my award. I like volunteering and when the local St John Fellowship members come along to meetings it’s nice to speak to them. In the future I would like to help St John Ambulance further.”

Framlingham Badger set manager Sally Butcher congratulated the girls on their “wonderful achievement.”
