Rail passengers faced disruption today following a fault with a freight train at the Derby Road station, in Ipswich.
The track was blocked and services running through the station were suspended following the incident which took place on the single track line.
All stations between Ipswich and Felixstowe will not be served and a bus replacement service was put into operation.
Jonathan Denby, head of Corporate Affairs for Greater Anglia, said the train was en route to Felixstowe when it appeared to suffer a problem with its brakes just after noon.
He said: “We are trying to get it on the move but it could be a while before that happens.”
