A Suffolk celebration of classic cars and motorcycles enjoyed a “record turnout” with up to 400 vintage vehicles in attendance.

The ninth annual Classics on the Green was held in Friston, near Aldeburgh, recently in aid of the village church.

Organisers Tony Morley and Simon Ive estimated up to 300 cars and 100 bikes were on show – along with the Leiston Long Shop’s steam tractor.

Classic cars ranged from vintage Talbots, Lagondas and Bentleys to 1960s Cadillacs and Pontiacs.

One Australian enthusiast brought his 1938 Delahaye, which is normally kept in the Dordogne region of France.

“We are only able to hold this event due to the generosity of William and Margaret Reeve who kindly allow us to park all spectator cars , which numbered some hundreds, on their adjoining field,” Mr Morley said.

“We’d like to thanks all exhibitors and visitors and hope to see everyone in 2019 for our 10th event.”

If anyone lost a pair of glasses at the event, please email Mr Morley.
