RESIDENTS were evacuated from their house today as firefighters struggled to put out a fire in a bathroom.
The occupants of a house in Church Path, Friston, were rescued from the property for their own safety as two crews - one from Aldeburgh and one from Saxmundham - dealt with the incident.
Fire crews arrived at the house at 2.30am to find the bathroom completely overrun with smoke from a fire involving paper toilet rolls, and had to use breathing apparatus and jets to get the flames under control.
The fire was extinguished shortly before 3am, although crews remained on scene to ventilate the house of smoke.
