A family fun day raised £400 for cancer care at Ipswich Hospital.
Knodishall Common and the village’s Butchers Arms pub hosted music, food, stalls, a tombola, raffle, cake stall, bouncy castle, face painting, and visits from a Leiston and Bentwaters fire engines and a DJ Spall breakdown lorry.
Emma Churchyard, who works at the pub, organised the day with landlady Tina Fisher, with help from bar manager David Hanlon.
The event itself raised £358 for the Heath Road hospital’s Somersham Ward. The total was rounded up that evening thanks to contributions from pub customers.
