Supermarket customers had the stress of Christmas food shopping eased in return for a donation to help fight women’s cancers.

Fundraisers from the East Anglian committee of the Eve Appeal, which funds research into gynaecological cancers, offered to pack bags at the Marks & Spencer store in Martlesham Heath.

More than £300 was donated by shoppers glad to support the cause.

Committee founder, Gabrielle Neal thanked everyone’s generosity.

She said: “Recently, we were able to send a cheque for £10,000 to the Eve Appeal in London and had great fun bag packing at M&S in Martlesham.”
