THE funeral of murdered Suffolk student Matthew Pyke is due to take place next week.

The 20-year-old was found stabbed at his flat in Nottingham city centre on September 19 by his girlfriend Joanna Witton.

Mr Pyke, a keen on-line gamer, moved to Nottingham two years ago from Stowmarket and was due to start a degree course at Nottingham Trent University this month.

The inquest heard that his father William Pyke identified him to police after attending Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Heiss was arrested in Germany five days after Mr Pyke's body was found.

The funeral is due to take place at West Suffolk Crematorium on Tuesday, October 28 at 2.15pm.

The Pyke family have requested flowers from relatives only but donations can be made to Myotonic Dystrophy Support Group, care of Meredith Greengrass Funeral Service, 9 Marriotts Walk, Stowmarket, IP14 1AF.
