Fantastic weather, thousands of people and a magnificent array of eye-catching cars and motorcycles have helped to raise funds for St Nicholas Hospice Care.
The fourth annual Classic and Sports Cars by the Lake, at Hall Farm, in Fornham St Martin, attracted over 4,000 people, on Sunday, as more than 500 vehicles, ranging from pre-war classics to motorcycles and present day sports cars, went on display. And the day raised an incredible £23,000, up £2,000 from last year, for the Bury St Edmunds-based hospice. In addition to the vehicles visitors were able to enjoy fly-fishing casting shows by the lake, food tent, craft stalls, climbing wall and a children’s fun area.
Austin Cornish, the event organiser and a member of the hospice’s voluntary special events committee, said: “It was a fantastic day. The standard of vehicles was up from last year. It was an excellent show, great weather and big crowds.”
