FLUSHED with excitement at the first real snowfall of the winter, children everywhere dusted off their shovels, raided the fridge and dug out their old scarves.

Getting to work in gardens, fields and even on roundabouts, they gathered snow into huge piles ready to craft into the perfect snowman.

But they didn’t stop there. Suffolk now has a healthy collection of snowdogs, snowwomen and even a snow jockey.

Photos of these carefully carved snow creations have been posted on our iwitness page and we are offering a £25 High Street voucher for the best snow friend.

The competition, run in association with Hammond Land Rover, the off-road specialists based in Halesworth, will run until the end of the month, so there is plenty to get your photos in.

Usual Archant conditions apply, closing date is Thursday, January 31.

Winners will be announced online at The East Anglian Daily Times and via iwitness.
