CROWDS enjoyed attractions on the ground and in the air at the Wings and Wheels event held at Henham Park, near Southwold, yesterday.

The event – organised by members of the Halesworth Lions Club – featured cars and planes, with classic models from yesteryear, while up in the sky there were some exciting aerobatic displays, light planes of all types from all over the country, plus a variety of entertainment in the main ring.

The Breitling Wingwalkers’ aircraft performed a breathtaking sequence of formation loops and rolls, with daring wingwalkers performing acrobatics on the wings.

The 1940s Stearman biplanes reached speeds of up to 150mph as the wingwalkers climbed around the aircraft and perform handstands and other stunts.

The vehicle display included hundreds of cars, motorcycles and military vehicles. All profits from the day will be used by the Lions Club to help local and international worthy causes.
