CLASSIC cars representing the last ten decades of motoring history lined the grounds of a stately home near Ipswich as part of an annual motoring festival.

Visitors flocked to Helmingham Hall yesterday for the popular event, which is held in aid of East Anglia Children's Hospice's (EACH).

Classic car owners showed off their vehicles to the crowds - driving them up and down the main drive and on two concourse runs against the backdrop of the magnificent home and its beautiful grounds.

The oldest vehicle on show was a 1914 Ford Model T and the latest sports car models included the Chevrolet Corvette and a Ford Mustang as well as Ferrari and Porsche.

There were also displays from Alvis, Bristol, Jensen, AC Riley, Armstrong Sideley, Lea Francis, Crossley, BSA, Lagonda, Lanchester and Gordon Keeble.

Other entertainment came from the Red Barrows display team, which recreate the flight formations of the Red Arrows with wheel barrows.

The Suffolk School of Samba added a little extra flair to the day, while there was also a birds of prey display and a fairground.
