Pupils at Nacton village primary enjoyed making the Easter-themed hats and wore them with pride as they all gathered together in the hall before the end of term.
All 84 pupils were invited to design or decorate a hat, with younger brothers and sisters and Nacton and Bucklesham Playgroup joining in the fun.
Hats took on lots of weird and wonderful forms relating to the Easter theme, including bunny ears and eggs. They were made using a variety of different materials, including card, plastic, feathers and straw.
Headteacher Elizabeth Ditton said: “The response by pupils and staff has been fantastic with wonderfully creative designs.”
Prizes for the prettiest, most environmentally friendly, original, seasonal and wackiest hats were presented by Paula Warner, owner of Orwell Stores, the Nacton village shop; resident Dorrie Giles who works as a volunteer supporting science lessons; and Kelvin Silburn, chairman of governors.
