A FOOTBALL match in memory of a school girl who died from a rare heart condition has raised money for her memorial fund.
Teachers from Stowmarket and Stowupland schools were pitted against each other for the match which raised £800.
A minute’s applause was scheduled before kick-off at Stowmarket Town Football Club on Thursday evening.
Lily’s mother, Melanie, said: “It was good; we had a nice mix of people. People interested in football and people interested in supporting the teachers. We are hoping to hold the football match as an annual event.”
Stowmarket High School student Lily Webster collapsed during a trampolining class in January 2012. A coroner ruled she died from the rare heart condition called Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.
