Young thespians at Framlingham College had every drama students’ dream – performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The group, FramBag Theatre, premiered its hour-long Hamlet at The Cut in Halesworth before taking the play to The Space on North Bridge, Edinburgh, this week.

The cast of eight comprised three current Framlingham College students, four leavers and a returning student, Alex Myers-Allen, who is off to study at the Guildford School of Acting in the autumn, playing Polonius.

Jimmy Rutherford plays Hamlet struggling to stay alive in the post-coup Denmark after the uprising. Amber Pullen plays his mother, Gertrude; Tom Hampson is Claudius; Zoe Delmer-Best plays Ophelia; George Coulson is Laertes, Alex Holland plays Guildernstern and Molly Drnec is Horatio.

Directed by Hugh Edwards and Dorothy Englert, they present the struggle of power and corruption with a visually thrilling blend of theatre styles and original music from Samuel Williams.
