AN HISTORIC Suffolk horse show has been labelled a huge success after more than 1,000 people attended.

The 118th Framlingham Horse Show was set against the majestic backdrop of the town’s castle, and featured a variety of classes and events.

Entries have been increasing every year to the varied list including, light horse and working hunter classes.

There were doubts the event would go ahead as the recent wet weather had caused a headache for the organisers.

But honorary director Sue Bell said: “The turnout from people has been great. As much as anything, people wanted to come out and have an outing, as so many shows have been cancelled. It’s a beautiful setting, we are very relieved.

“We have to thank the spectators who made it a lovely summer’s day. It’s been close to one of the biggest shows. I think the success is down to the fantastic team of stewards and sponsors and helpers who support us.

“It would not be a success without the general public.”
