Dozens of dogs, many dressed up and some ready to compete for rosettes in the ring, were the centre of attention in Lawford yesterday.

The Foxash Social and Sports Club Dog Fun Day was held and money raised during the event will go to the K9 Lifesavers charity.

There was only one brief shower on the day as the fun day drew twice as many visitors as the last show in September last year.

There were two rings for judging and dog agility demonstrations as well as refreshments, games, trade and gift stands and a fancy dress competition.

Organiser Louise Jacobs said: “I wasn’t expecting it to be so busy but it was and people came from all over - Kent, Cambridge, Brentwood. We had 121 dogs entered and there were about 200 people on the day.

“We had a stall raising money for Mistley Farm Park and all the money from the show and the raffle will go to K9 Lifesavers, which I am part of.”
