More than 500 students at a school in Bury St Edmunds kicked off their science festival in style with chocolate bridges, DNA bracelets and glowing worms.

The Bury St Edmunds County Upper School science festival, held from 10am to 3pm on Friday and Saturday, saw more than 500 pupils getting involved in a range of activities across physics, biology, chemistry and engineering.

There were activities for pupils to blend their own soft drinks, use robotic cameras, experiment with wind turbines and windtunnels, and take part in taste tests.

The event, which was supported by Rolls Royce, featured students from the University of East Anglia on hand for activities in producing electricity, as well as Marshall Aerospace representatives to talk about opportunities in aerospace and engineering.
