CUDDLY newborn lambs are one of the joys of early spring - and the sight of them thrilled the hearts of a group of youngsters.

Children from Otley Primary School flocked to see the babies as part of a visit yesterday to the Otley College campus to find out more about its work with a variety of animals.

The visit also included a trip to the small animal unit to see snakes, chameleons and giant rabbits.

“It is not beyond the realms of possibility that some of the youngsters will either be studying or working here at some point in the future, so it is great for them to familiarise themselves with the college at an early age.”

The public will have a chance to see the animals and look round the college at its free Big Day Out on May 9.
