More than 300 people turned out for a fun run in Kesgrave raising money for St Elizabeth Hospice.

The sun shone down on the entrants as they made their way round the five kilometre course on Sunday morning.

And their efforts raised £1,439 for the Kate Moyes Memorial Fund at the hospice.

Debbie McCallum, one of the event’s organisers, said: “It was a fantastic turn out. It was perfect running weather.

“Everyone really, really enjoyed it and we’ve had so much positive feedback.”

The winning time was 17min 7sec set by Jason Berry, with Warren Birch finishing second in 17.09.

Third, and the best junior runner, was 12-year-old Matthew Snowdon with his time of 17.35.

The first woman to finish was April Hill in a time of 20.14.

The organisers thanked Fenn Wright Estate Agents, the volunteer marshals and the first aiders for their help in making the event happen as well as the patience of motorists affected by the run.
