A photographic society specialising in monochrome is holding an exhibition of its work at an east Suffolk library, featuring many haunting images of the region’s landscape.
The Suffolk Monochrome Group said it was “proud” to be exhibiting at Woodbridge Library where it would be displaying a varied collection of portraiture, abstract and other genres.
“We are excited about this chance to show photographs to a much wider audience,” added the group’s Barry Freeman.
The collection includes a number of moody shots taken from well known locations across the county, including Mendlesham Tower, beach huts in Southwold and Orford Ness Lighthouse. There are also pieces featuring landscapes from further afield, sporting fixtures and abstract images.
The group was founded by 12 members in 2009 with the objectives of “fostering the appreciation of monochrome photographs and to encourage the development of this branch of photographic art”.
It has held a number of exhibitions in East Anglia, including Wingfield Barns near Diss and the Mercury Theatre in Colchester, however it is yet to display in Woodbridge.
“The group are proud to be holding an exhibition at the Woodbridge Library which is the first time we have exhibited at this venue,” Mr Freeman said.
