MILITARIA experts from an auction house have helped identify the regiment featured in an old family photo discovered by iwitness reporter Barry Pullen.
Mr Pullen found these photos hiding amongst the family treasures, but had no information about the military photos so called on readers to help.
Militaria experts at Lockdales auction house saw the images and believe they show “the Royal Flying Corps and probably the Royal Navy Air Service”.
Can you tell us anymore?
Mr Pullen also found a thank you from the Queen among his collection of old photos.
He said it was sent “to my wife’s grandmother, Jessie May Nibloe, for taking in evacuees during the war when they were living in Rattlesden, Suffolk.”
Were you one of the evacuees who lodged with Jessie?
Another of the old family photos shows a church fete and Mr Pullen said: “This was taken around 1957 at a church fete at Creeting St Peter Rectory (we think). The lady second from left is Lady Harrison, wife of Sir Harwood Harrison, MP for Suffolk at the time. She is holding my wife’s brother, Michael Deakin.”
Fellow iwitness reporter, Susan Boast has also found a treasured photo showing the Christmas play At Hadleigh Town Hall, around 1963.
Were you in the production?
