Children at schools and libraries across the county embraced the magic of storytelling and reading for World Book Day.
At Worlingworth Primary, the children enjoyed paired reading before each class wrote extracts of a school story - to be read out today.
Pupils dressed as their favourite characters and book related crafts took place throughout the day, before a book sale in the afternoon.
Victoria Gascoyne-Cecil, head of school, said: “Today was about exposing children to older stories and newer tales to encourage them to continue picking up books.”
East Bergholt High School also went dressed as their favourite characters and exchanged £1 tokens for specially published books.
Librarian Wendy Offord said the event was a fun way to get imaginations fired up and encourage pupils to become avid readers.
At Bury St Edmunds Library, youngsters had the chance to pin their favourite books and authors to a World Book Day tree.
