THE Wall of Death returned to its spiritual home at the White Hart, Boxford.

The pub, which is the birthplace of the legendary Wall of Death rider George ‘Tornado’ Smith and also the burial place of his companion the 12-stone lioness Briton, hosted the event on Saturday and Sunday.

Mark Wilson, landlord of the Broad Street Inn, said it was fitting that the famous white-knuckle ride had returned.

“It is part of the history of the pub. The locals absolutely love it; they make a real day out of it,” he added.

Spectators got to stand almost within touching distance as the motorbikes made their way around the loop on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
