IPSWICH: Dozens of chess players of all ages took part in the Ipswich Chess Tournament at Copleston High School.

The event, organised by the Ipswich Junior Chess Club, attracted young players from across the region - and also gave adults the opportunity to take part in an open competition.

With tournaments for all age groups, the competition is a qualifier for the prestigious London championships at Christmas.

Youngsters showed great concentration in taking part in the competition - which ran throughout the day.
