CCTV images are being released by detectives investigating reports a group of men were seen brandishing weapons at a supermarket car park in Witham.

Armed police were sent to the Asda store in Highfields Road at around 4.40pm on Wednesday.

They were responding to reports a number of men were seen behaving in a threatening manner towards each other and dispatched several units to the scene.

They are said to have been brandishing weapons including screwdrivers.

A machete-style knife was also reported to have been spotted.

No members of the public were involved in the incident and no injuries were reported.

An investigation into what happened is ongoing and now police are issuing images of four men they wish to speak to following the incident.

Anyone who recognises the men, and anyone who has information relating to the incident should call Braintree LPT on 101.
