A TEENAGE boy was left with a fractured jaw after he was set upon by a group of youths in Colchester.
Detectives are seeking witnesses to the assault that left the 15-year-old local boy with the injury.
The young man was making his way home from school at around 3.50pm on Monday when he was attacked by a group of five or six youths, of similar age, in an alleyway between Gloucester Avenue and Boadicea Way.
The victim was taken to Colchester hospital and then referred to a specialist facial injuries unit at Ipswich hospital.
The alleyway is near Kingsford Primary School and there were parents and other adults in the area at the relevant time, collecting children from school.
Detectives are asking any of these adults or anyone who witnessed the assault, or who has any other information to contact Dc Dave Glasgow at Colchester police station on 0300 333 4444 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
