We are counting down the days until this year’s Tour of Britain makes its way through our county’s fantastic roads, and we want you to send in your photos of the stage this Friday.
One of cycling’s biggest sporting events is well underway and the elite athletes will be pedalling through Suffolk this Friday – and we want your photos.
The sixth stage of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain will be entirely in Suffolk, and will arrive in Newmarket at around 10.45am and is expected to finish on Aldeburgh High Street just after 3pm.
The race will see riders endure 183km of roads with a total ascent of around 1,228 metres, building up to an exhilarating bunched-sprint finish as they approach the last stretch in Aldeburgh, which will be enjoyed by all of the visitors.
Before stage six comes to an end in Aldeburgh. the racers will pass through Dennington, Framlingham, Wickham Market, Grundisburgh, Kesgrave High School, Woodbridge, Melton, Rendlesham and Snape Maltings.
This is the fourth time since 2010 that the Tour of Britain has visited our county’s roads, but it is the first time that a stage will be held entirely in Suffolk.
If you live along the 114 miles of Suffolk roads that the cyclists, including Mark Cavendish, Geraint Thomas and Alex Dowsett, will pass through, make sure you make the most of witnessing this triumphant race and send your photos to us.
Spectators of the Tour of Britain will witness 120 riders pass through Suffolk, who will be split up in 20 teams of six racers, including the current World Tour’s top five ranked teams.

Among the racers will be the former world champion Mark Cavendish, who broke his shoulder during a sprint finish against Peter Sagan in the Tour de France in July.
The OVO Energy Tour of Britain began in Edinburgh on Sunday and will conclude in Cardiff on Sunday, September 10, with a total distance of 1,312km, or 815 miles covered.
The best places in Suffolk to watch the race are Framlingham Castle, Wickham Market village square, Grundisburgh Church, for the sprint - outside Kesgrave High School, East Suffolk House in Melton, Snape Maltings bridge, Leiston High Street, Saxmundham High Street and Aldeburgh High Street.
From 11.30pm on Thursday and midnight on Friday, there will be road closures across the Tour of Britain route so be sure to check for any closures in advance.
