Head office staff from Ellisons Solicitors have donated 42 presents to be given to elderly patients in Colchester General Hospital on Christmas Day.
The gifts were collected at a staff social evening, and firm representatives handed over the gifts to senior nurses from the four care of the elderly wards at Colchester General Hospital on Thursday.
Emma Boorman, head of business development at Ellisons, said: “We decided to collect gifts for elderly patients who will be in hospital over the Christmas period because we are aware just how lonely it can be for them, and if we can help to bring some festive joy in just a small way, then all the better.”
Donna Traynor, matron for the care of the elderly wards at the hospital, said: “This is a very generous gesture from Ellisons. It is heart-warming to know our elderly patients are remembered.
