A man is reported to have tried to grab a 12-year-old girl as she walked in an alleyway in Lowestoft yesterday.

The incident is said to have taken place in an alleyway between Sussex Road and Royal Avenue at around 8.40am.

The girl was walking along the alleyway when a man shouted at her. She ran but the man followed her and tried to grab her before the girl got away and returned home.

Police need to trace the man – described as white, in his early to mid 20s, around 6ft tall, of skinny build, with cropped blonde hair, wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up and dark jeans – and are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in this area around this time.

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Christopher Thompson at Lowestoft by dialling Suffolk Police on 101, quoting crime number 21640/16.
