Glemsford twins James and Christopher Wilkinson said they are “so happy” after achieving 13 A*/A grades between them in their GCSE results.

The brothers, who attend Stoke College, near Haverhill, opened their results this morning and both will attend King Edward VI School in Bury St Edmunds for sixth form next year.

James secured one A*, six As and two Bs while Christopher achieved six As and four Bs.

Christopher said there is a “little bit” of competition between the pair but “not as much as people might think”.

He said: “I’m very relieved. I was expecting to do well, but I think I did better than expected. We pretty much keep ourselves to ourselves and didn’t really discuss our grades.”

James said: “I’m so happy. I was expecting to do well but it’s nice to have them all clarified.

“The school was brilliant and ran so many exam sessions. I didn’t enjoy it at the time but it’s paid off.”
