A south Norfolk GP has admitted raping and sexually abusing two young girls.

Dr Hugh O’Neill, 61, of Saxlingham Lane, Tasburgh, admitted five charges during an appearance at Norwich Crown Court yesterday.

The offences include two counts of rape and one count of gross indecency against one victim who was under-14 at the time of the offences, and two counts of gross indecency against a second victim, also aged under 14.

The offences, which date between January 1 1995 and December 31 2002, do not relate to his professional role.
